THE WINE

It is made with selected Sangiovese grapes, with an intense ruby red colour. This wine expresses the character of this warm and at the same time austere land. Its fruity and spicy hints are tied in a very tight knot that melts fluidly in large glasses.

FOOD PAIRING

It is perfect with a rack of lamb scented with rosemary or alternatively, if with greater maturity, next to a terracotta earthenware pigeon with traditional balsamic vinegar reduction.

VINIFICATION

Classico millesimo di grande equilibrio che ha dato vita ad un Sangiovese di splendida bevibilità. Annata poco vigorosa, in cui la pianta grazie alla regolarità delle precipitazioni, ha continuato a vegetare anche durante il periodo estivo non perdendo di vista la concentrazione. Le escursioni termiche tra il giorno e la notte a ridosso della vendemmia hanno consentito il raggiungimento di una buona maturazione delle uve. Profondità nei vini senza perdere di vista dinamismo e carattere, qui emerge soprattutto l’aspetto più ammiccante di un’annata calda, frutto dolce una trama tannica sinuosa e risolta.

DEL TESORO VINEYARDS

This wine is born in the areas of Massa di Vecchiazzano and Predappio, in the DOC area of Predappio, from soils of a very different nature. The vineyards enjoy a mild climate due to the nearby presence of the sea, the constant breezes mitigate the summer heat and the rigors of winter clean the sky and keep the insolation index high. To the North, in the lower part, the soils are more generous of a silty-clayey nature. The higher areas are characterized by a rather variable soil that ranges from the clay-limestone matrix to that of an alluvial character, both ideal for the cultivation of Sangiovese. Here it emerges how the grape-soil interaction plays a different role in the final result of wines in different vintages.
